The Magic of the Intrinsic muscles of the Hand – a webinar with Ton A.R. Schreuders

Ton is a hand therapist with extensive experience in leprosy care, having worked in Chiangmai, Thailand for seven years. Since 1992, he has been based at Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam. He earned his PhD in 2004 with research focused on hand muscle strength testing. Ton has coordinated a hand therapy course in the Netherlands since 1999 and co-founded Hands Across Borders, conducting workshops in Asia. He has authored over 50 publications, contributed to textbooks, and lectured in more than 20 countries. In 2025, he received the IFSHT Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dr. Tara Packham, PhD, OT
Ontario, Canada

Tara Packham is an occupational therapist with over 25 years of experience in hand and upper limb rehabilitation, which has sparked her interest in pain research. She holds three degrees, including a PhD from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. Currently, she is an assistant professor in the School of Rehabilitation Science. Her teaching and research program focuses on optimizing measurement and translating evidence into practice to promote well-being, participation, and recovery in individuals with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Additionally, she serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Hand Therapy and is the community engagement officer for the CRPS Special Interest Group at the International Association for the Study of Pain
